Winery Work & Factory Work

There are many wineries located in Griffith and often there are casual job
opportunities available. Vintage (January till April) is the busiest time

available during the rest of the year, these may vary from short term jobs
(a couple of days) to medium longterm (a couple of weeks). As we are
affiliated with Skilled Recruitment, Australias largest labour hire company,

What do you need ?

First of all you need to work out if you will need to have your own transport
in order to be able to work. There are buses, trains and planes coming in and
out of Griffith, but there is no public transport available to ferry you
around. Some farmers might pick you up and drop you off, others may have
accomodation on the work site available. Whatever your plans are, make sure
you find out first before you come down to Griffith.

The temperature in Griffith can get rather hot (around 40 Celcius),so make sure you always carry enough drinking water with you when you are working
outdoors. The sun is much stronger here then overseas, a layer of sunscreen is not enough protection, so try and wear long sleeve shirts whenever you can!Wear a hat to protect your self from over heating and try and work in the coolest hours of the day.

Wear sensible shoes, thongs are not really designed to get you up and down
adders and do not give you much protection in case you walk into some of the
australian crawling creatures!

Be prepared to give it a couple of days; you will find that with a bit more
experience you will pick faster and make more money.

At Myalbangera Outstation we give you up-to-date information
and will find you a job.
